Workshops organised by COST Action ES 0802

The European Union's COST Action ES 0802 "Unmanned Aerial Systems in Atmspheric Research" in collaboration with the Royal Meteorological Society and the UK Met Office organised a workshop with an exhibition and  oral and poster presentations on Scientific Applications of Unmanned Aerial Systems in Atmospheric Research, Clare College, Cambridge and Met Office, Cardington, 22nd - 24th September, 2010.

The main objective of the workshop organised by Phil Anderson (British Antarctic Survey) was to demonstrate the practical uses of UAS in atmospheric research, giving results from past field campaigns and describing the state- of-the-art instrumentation automation and miniaturisation. Emphasis within the workshop was in Light UAS (LUAS) platforms. Future practical demonstrations of UAS capability have been advertised, giving an opportunity for the LUAS community to network and add value to their proposed campaigns.

The spring workshop 2011 was organised by the Energy, Environment and Water Research Center (EEWRC) of the Cyprus Institute, Manfred Lange, see here. The most recent workshop was organised by the zhaw in Winterthur/Suisse.
